PARSIPPANY, NJ — It's been a fortnight since Election Day, but now officials can say with certainty the results of Parsippany's primary elections.

Parsippany had contested Republican races for mayor and Township Council. The council race was too close to call. And while James Barberio appeared to win the mayoral race, the results weren't yet official.

The Democratic side featured uncontested primaries for mayor and council.

In the township council race, Justin Musella and Frank Neglia will represent the Republican side for the two available seats. Musella led with 1,894 votes, while 1,809 people voted for Neglia. Gary Martin, who ran on the Parsippany First ticket with Musella, finished just shy with 1,763 votes.

The results will mix both Republican tickets for Nov. 2's General Election. Barberio and Neglia of Team Barberio qualified for the General Election, while Deborah Orme, who ran for council with the team, fell short.
