RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Ridgewood Schools will shift to remote learning Tuesday as a nor'easter is expected to dump more snow on the region.

School was canceled Monday as the National Weather Service's New York, NY office reported at least 4.2 inches of snow by 7 a.m. in Ridgewood.

Officials made the decision for Tuesday citing "hazardous conditions related to the aftermath of the storm."

Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, who was in Ridgewood checking on road conditions Monday, called them "treacherous," and officials from across the state asked residents to stay home.

Light snow likely. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 28. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Tuesday Night

A 50 percent chance of light snow before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph.
