Plainfield School Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus

There are now a total of 15 positive cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Union County.

PLAINFIELD, NJ — A Plainfield school employee has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the Plainfield Health Officer said Tuesday.

The Hubbard Middle school employee tested positive for COVID-19 and the Plainfield Board of Health is contacting all at-risk parties who live Plainfield, said Plainfield School Superintendent Diana Mitchell.

Employees who reside outside of Plainfield will be contacted by the appropriate Board of Health.

As a result of the positive test, Hubbard Middle School be thoroughly cleaned while it is closed and remote learning is continuing.

On Tuesday, Gov. Phil Murphy ordered closing all indoor malls and amusement parks and centers in New Jersey as cases reached 267, that is 89 more cases than previously reported. (See Related: Gov. Murphy: NJ Malls Closing Due To Coronavirus, 89 New Cases)
