Snooki & Friends Announce 'Jersey Shore' Reunion TV Premiere Date

Members of the cast filmed in Asbury Park and Point Pleasant Beach; Seaside Heights refused to grant them a permit.

If you've been wondering what happened to Snooki, JWoww, the Situation, Pauly and the rest of the gang since MTV's "Jersey Shore" aired its final episode in December 2012, here's your chance to find out.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino announced the premiere date — Aug. 20 on the E! network — on Instagram on Friday.

People magazine reported the show, titled "Reunion Road Trip," will be a reunion-centered documentary series will include Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola as well as Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Pauly "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio. It's unclear whether Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Vinny Guadagnino, or Deena Nicole Cortese and Angelina Pivarnick are participating in the show, which will air at 9:30 p.m.

The cast filmed in Asbury Park and Point Pleasant Beach in June and July; Seaside Heights refused to grant them permits, , but it's not clear whether they spent any time in Seaside Heights, where the group spent three summers filming their vacation antics as 20-somethings. Polizzi, the youngest of the group, is 29 now, and the others all are in their 30s. Giancola is 30, Farley is 31, Sorrentino is 33 and Delvecchio is 35.

The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the reunion show was in the works said the show is unscripted and will include the cast sharing stories, revisiting hot spots and catching up on each other's current lives. They will be telling some of the stories from behind the scenes that never aired.

"Jersey Shore" aired 71 episodes “Jersey Shore” debuted on MTV in 2009 and was criticized for its sometimes unsavory view of life in Seaside Heights. UNICO National, an Italian-American organization, called the show “trash television” before it debuted and the show was derided by Gov. Chris Christie.
