Packaging the Holiday Spirit at Babylon Elementary

School participates in Adopt-a-Solider program.

Babylon Elementary School is helping to spread holiday cheer through a series of community service projects benefiting individuals, both locally and afar.

As part of the Adopt-a-Solider program, the school has adopted nine soldiers who are either currently serving abroad or at home. Throughout the year, the students and staff will be sending packages to these individuals, each of whom has a personal connection to Babylon. This December, the classes created individualized artwork or letters for the recipients extending their thanks for service. Teaming up with the Blue Ribbon Moms program, the school also helped to provide car packages to three deployed soldiers.

“It is our hope that the soldiers are excited to receive our packages and feel a nice connection to home during the holiday season,” said Principal Jessica Kemler.
