Lidl Discount Grocery To Open In Glen Oaks

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A popular supermarket chain is opening its third location in Queens after operating stores in Harlem, Staten Island, and Astoria.

Lidl will be opening at the Glen Oaks Shopping Center sometime in 2024, the company announced.

The Virginia-based grocery chain signed a 34,484-square-foot lease with the real estate investment firm Feil Organization, granting them the space at 255-01 Union Turnpike.

“We continue to hear positive feedback from our Astoria customers," said Or Raitses, senior director of real estate for Lidl’s northern region. “With this new location, we are continuing our mission to bring fresh foods at an incredible value to the many unique and diverse neighborhoods of New York City.”

The Lidl grocery store will have a bakery, fresh produce, floral, meats, and seafood sections. The store is expected to open after the Elmhurst location in early 2024.

Lidl operates over 170 stores on the East Coast, with 25 in New York State.
