Panera Bread Opens in Garden City

New bakery cafe held grand opening Monday.

Panera Bread opened their doors in Garden City Monday morning.

The newest franchise is the 28th bakery cafe on Long Island and was welcomed to the neighborhood by local business leaders and dignitaries.

Panera Bread in Garden City is bringing 60 jobs to the area and is continuing to hire new employees.

“As we continue to staff the café with energetic individuals, we look forward to bringing the better-for-you food options to the convenient location on Franklin Avenue and offering the to-go ordering option to better serve our busy guests,” said Greg George, vice president of operations for Doherty Enterprises, Inc., in a statement. Doherty is the Panera Bread franchisee in Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The Garden City Panera Bread, located at 1140 Franklin Avenue, will serve breakfast from 6:30-10 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7-9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lunch and dinner are available until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and through 9 p.m. on Sunday.
