Cops Track Down Pair Of Westchester Home Burglary Suspects To NJ

The story started with a downtown homeowner reporting a burglary to Harrison police in December and ended with a multi-agency takedown.

HARRISON, NY — A Westchester homeowner came home to find a break-in and property looted in December. Police never gave up trying to find the culprits and that dogged determination paid off this week.

Stefania Gonzalez-Munoz, 35, and Nicolas Sanchez-Diaz, 22, were both charged with felony burglary in connection to that residential burglary. Harrison Police Department investigators were eventually able to identify suspects and filed for arrest warrants for Gonzalez-Munoz and Sanchez-Diaz.

With the assistance of the FBI, Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Port Authority Police Department and The Elizabeth, NJ Police Department, the pair were located and apprehended. On March 12, Gonzalez-Munoz was arrested in New Jersey on a felony burglary warrant and was extradited to New York. On March 19, Sanchez-Diaz was arrested in New Jersey on a felony burglary warrant and was also extradited to New York.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Harrison Court. They are both currently being held at the Westchester County Jail with bail. Sanchez-Diaz is being held on $75,000 cash bail and Gonzalez-Munoz is being held on $50,000 cash bail.
