The crash destroyed the right corner of the house, ruptured a gas line and a water pipe. Debris was strewn all across the property. The next door property’s deck, trees, shrubbery and fences were damaged, according to officials.

The residents were not home at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported.

Meyer’s white pickup truck was impounded for a safety check.

About 25 Centerport firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the incident with an engine, ladder truck, ambulance and fire patrol.
