Patch Pet Of The Week: Addie

Meet our very first Patch Pet of the Week: Addie!

Addie is an adorable hound mix from Amityville, NY. Also known as Addith by her brother, she is one of the sweetest pups you will ever meet. Even though she's nine years old, (which is pretty old in dog years), she still has a ton of energy.

First day home

She was a shelter pooch who needed a loving home, and found one when she was only a few months old. Her first night home she was scared and spent most of the night sleeping. But, it didn't take her long to get used to her new house, and start ripping up everything in sight (as puppies are apt to do)!

Favorite treat

Addie loves licking peanut butter out of her kong, it's definitely her favorite treat. However, she'll eat pretty much anything!

Weirdest thing she ever ate

Probably a pot of left over hot dog water, you know that gross left-over juice after cooking hot dogs? Yup. She seemed to enjoy it though.

Likes

Addie has a lot of toys that she loves to play with, but her favorite would probably have to be her tennis ball, she can play fetch for hours at a time.

Dislikes

One thing Addie really doesn't like is the vacuum cleaner. Anytime mom goes to vacuum the living room, she has a full on panic attack. She also doesn't like squirrels, and routinely chases them off her property as soon as she spots them.

Funniest habit

She will refuse to sit on a couch with anything on it, even if there's just a blanket strewn across it, she will not sit down. She simply stares at the couch, then back at you, then back at the couch until you move it. We're not sure if she's scared of it or just very particular.

"The sweetest dog ever"

Even though she sometimes gets herself into trouble with her family members, she is genuinely the sweetest dog ever. After a long night, she'll curl up with you on the couch and rest her head on your lap just to watch TV with you. Every time you walk in the house you'll feel like a celebrity with the greeting she gives you. She has brought so much love and fun into our household and will forever be a huge part of our family.
