3 Teens — 1 With Loaded Handgun — Arrested In Beacon

Police said they were called Wednesday to Tompkins Terrace for a possible burglary in progress.

BEACON, NY — A 15-year-old was accused of having a loaded handgun and two other teens were accused of trespassing in Beacon.

The City of Beacon Police Department said officers were called Wednesday to Tompkins Terrace for a possible burglary in progress.

Police said the suspects had fled before they arrived but they obtained descriptions.

Officers began searching the area and located the three teens.

One of them — a 15-year-old boy — had a loaded, illegal handgun, according to law enforcement.

A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were each charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, felonies, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under 16, a juvenile offense.

All three were processed and released with appearance tickets.

Police said that, because of their ages, no names or further information can be released.
