MARLBORO, NY — The alleged driver in the hit-and-run accident that killed two septuagenarians on Route 9W in March has been arrested, New York State police said.

At about 9:20 p.m. March 1, Donna Cristallo, 72, of Kingston, was pushing Stephen Celluch, 75, also of Kingston, in his wheelchair from the east side to the west side of the road. A 2020 Kia Fortes struck them both, police said.

The alleged driver, Angela Fischl, 25, continued southbound until a Town of Newburgh Police Department patrol unit stopped her, police said.
