Orange County Man Faces Prison For Sex Act With Child: DA

ORANGE COUNTY, NY — A 41-year-old who had anal sex with an individual who was younger than 11 pleaded guilty Thursday to a charge of fifirst-degree criminal sexual act, Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced.

Justin Babb of New Hampton faces a prison term of 18 years to be followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. As part of the sentence, Babb will also be registered as a sex offender under the New York Sex Offender Registration Act, prosecutors said.

At the plea proceedings, Babb admitted that in August he engaged in anal sexual conduct with an individual who was less than 11 years old, Hoovler said.

"This defendant’s unspeakable actions demand a lengthy prison sentence," Hoovler said. "It is inconceivable that a child could be subjected to the horrific acts perpetrated by this offender. To be clear, my Office, together with our law enforcement partners, will never stop seeking to hold sexual predators accountable for their conduct. We will continue to ensure justice is served in these challenging cases."

Hoovler thanked the Orange County Child Abuse Investigation Unit for their investigation which led to Babb's arrest.
