Hoovler thanked the New York State Police for the investigation and arrest.

“Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home,” Hoovler said. “This offender’s violent actions violated the sanctity of the victim’s home and were rightfully met with the significant prison sentence imposed. While the victim in this case thankfully did not suffer permanent injuries, we as a community will stand up in the face of such egregious conduct. The prosecution of violent felonies has been and will remain a top priority of my Office.”

The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Christopher Kelly.
