Search Warrant Yields Illegal Drugs, Weapons In Poughkeepsie: Police

A significant quantity of fentanyl, crack cocaine, a handgun, handgun and rifle ammunition were seized, law enforcement said.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A man in Poughkeepsie was accused of having illegal drugs and weapons after a search warrant was executed at a Main Street resident in the city of Poughkeepsie.

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force began an investigation early this year into fentanyl and other dangerous drug sales in the area of 455 Main St. in the city.

On Wednesday, task force agents, with the assistance of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 455 Main St.

The execution of the warrant led to the seizure of a significant quantity of fentanyl, crack cocaine, a handgun, handgun ammunition and rifle ammunition.

Authorities said Tyrone A. Moye, 37, was arrested and charged with four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

He is being held at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s office until his arraignment. Several additional charges are pending, police said.

The drug task force was assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau, K-9 Unit and Unmanned Aircraft Unit, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the Town of Hyde Park Police Department.
