RIVERSIDE, NY — A Sound Beach woman pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument for filing a forged judicial order purportedly issued by the Suffolk District Court with the county Sheriff’s office, Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney said Wednesday.

On June 29, 2022, Eleanor Blakley-Whaley consented to the issuance of a Warrant of Eviction from her home in Brookhaven Town by Suffolk's District Court, prosecutors said, adding that the warrant was stayed by the court until Oct. 31, 2022.

Between Nov. 1, 2022, and March 30, 2023, she filed six forged judicial orders stating that the eviction was stayed, and falsely purporting to have been issued by the court in an attempt to delay her eviction, prosecutors said.

Prior to this case, on Jan. 26, 2022, Blakley-Whaley pleaded guilty on an unrelated case, to
second-degree grand larceny, a felony, and was sentenced to three years of probation, according to prosecutors.

At the time of her arrest on the latest misdemeanor charge, Blakley-Whaley was serving her sentence
of probation and thus, the arrest and criminal conduct violated the terms of her probation sentence, prosecutors said.

“This defendant circumvented and frustrated the legal system in Suffolk County in order to benefit herself,” Tierney said, adding that he thanks the Sheriff’s office for its "cooperation and professionalism in this investigation.”

Her attorney, Eric Sackstein of Port Jefferson, told Patch, "She made a mistake continuously, and she got caught."
