The Last Snow of The Season?

Friday will bring some snow to Long Island, but get ready for a big warm up next week. Check out the latest forecast.

They are coming next week, but first we need to deal with one more dose of winter weather.

You probably won't need a shovel, but 2-3 inches of snow is expected to fall across Long Island on Friday, the National Weather Service says.

Temperatures will be unseasonably cold on Thursday with highs only in the mid-30s. Light snow is then expected to begin after midnight and it will almost certainly be snowing during the Friday morning commute.

The snow will end west to east during the afternoon and early evening on Friday. The high will be near 34 degrees on Friday, but wind gusts of over 30 mph will make it feel more like 15-20 degrees.

The weekend will be dry, with highs near 40 on both days. Next week, though, things should begin to feel like spring.

Here are the high temperatures expected Monday-Wednesday: 48, 54, 57. Weather.com says the mercury should then remain in the mid-to-upper 50s through the end of the week.
