FBI Offers $15K Reward For Fugitive Wanted In Pot Shop Heist Slayings

MOUNT VERNON, NY — The feds are offering a big reward in the hopes of bringing in a suspect in the armed robbery of a Mount Vernon pot shop that ended in a gun battle that left two dead.

FBI New York is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of Marco Tulio Fernandez-Rodriguez, wanted in connection with the robbery and homicide in Mount Vernon.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, Mount Vernon police were called to S. Fifth Ave. on a report of shots fired. Officers arriving on the scene found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One victim was rushed to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital and later died. A second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The FBI released a photo that same night of a suspect they are seeking information about, who at the time was known only as "Marcos." As the manhunt dragged on, law enforcement upped the ante offering a substantial reward for information leading to the capture of Fernandez-Rodriguez.

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams, FBI New York Field Office Assistant Director in Charge James Smith and Mount Vernon Police Commissioner David Gibson, last week announced the arrest of Ilario Contreras, Jerpi "Jorge" Diaz-Feliz, Jhoan Diaz-Feliz, Victor Jimenez and Joseph Perez on federal capital murder charges.
