Ex-Girlfriend Accused In 'Chaotic' Mother's Day Stabbing In Nanuet

NANUET, NY — An ex-girlfriend is accused of stabbing two people early on Mother's Day, Clarkstown police said.

At 4:37 a.m. May 12, officers responded to a distress call reporting a domestic assault on Spring Brook Road. They encountered a chaotic scene involving two victims with stab wounds, police said.

A 33-year-old reported that he had been stabbed by his ex-girlfriend, who then fled. He said a 29-year-old woman had also been stabbed during the altercation, which took place in the vestibule of the building.

He had been stabbed in the chest and right leg, while the other victim had sustained stab wounds to both arms, resulting in substantial bleeding, police said.

The officers applied a tourniquet to the man's leg to mitigate blood loss. Additional life-saving aid was provided by officers to the woman. Both victims were promptly transported by Nanuet Community Ambulance Corp. and Spring Hill Community Ambulance to nearby hospitals for treatment, police said.

A suspect, identified as Blanca Rincon-Hoyos, a 29-year-old from Spring Valley, was placed under arrest by members of the Clarkstown Police Department Detective Bureau at 3 p.m. that day.

Rincon-Hoyos faces multiple charges, including two counts of Attempted Murder 2nd (felony), two counts of Assault with a Weapon (felony), Burglary 1st (felony), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon (misdemeanor).

She was arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Justice Court, where bail was set at $50,000. She is currently in custody at the Rockland County jail, awaiting her future court appearance, police said.
