RAMAPO, NY — A Spring Valley man has been charged with a hate crime after an online food delivery went bad.

Ramapo police were called to a dispute on Old Nyack Turnpike in Monsey on Thursday.

Police were told the victim had ordered food through an online food delivery service; however, the wrong address was entered into the order. That had lengthened the driver’s delivery time.

When he did arrive, the driver is alleged to have spoken angrily to the customer, using antisemitic language, police said.

The customer went to the rear of the vehicle in an attempt to photograph the license plate, and the driver placed the vehicle in reverse and intentionally struck them, police said.

He was turned over to the Rockland County Jail pending future court appearances, police said.
