Lock Houses, Cars, Ramapo Police Warn After Sunday Night Incidents

RAMAPO, NY — In the wake of several incidents Sunday night, Ramapo police remind residents to lock doors and windows as well as cars.

Police said individuals were burglarizing unlocked homes in search of car keys and valuables Sunday night.

"One incident occurred in the Airmont section of Ramapo, while in New Hempstead, individuals attempted to enter parked vehicles outside a residence as well as attempting to open a sliding door," police said on Facebook.

The incidents are under investigation.

"In light of these events, it's crucial to prioritize the security of our homes and vehicles, especially before bedtime. Remember to lock doors, secure windows, and if you have an alarm system, ensure it's set," police said. "Let's stay vigilant and proactive about our safety and security.
