"I can confirm that New Rochelle police did locate through investigation the suspect wanted in the October 14 homicide of a cab driver," New Rochelle Police Captain Coyne told NBC4.

NYPD was not involved in the incident.

The arrest is said to be connected to the fatal shooting of 62-year-old taxi driver Andres Valenzuela who was pronounced dead shortly after officers on patrol found him wounded in a New Rochelle parking lot on Main Street in the city just before 3 a.m Thursday.

Valenzuela was finishing his shift and was parking his cab when he was shot, police said in a statement released on Thursday.
