New Rochelle Farmers Market Returns With New Digs This Weekend

In addition to a multi-million dollar makeover, the new location for the weekend tradition has other advantages.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Your first chance to check out the reinvigorated New Rochelle Downtown Farmers Market at the city's newly renovated Anderson Plaza is here.

The New Rochelle Farmers Market will be returning to downtown New Rochelle in a brand new location and also on a new day. Beginning this weekend, the New Rochelle Downtown Farmers Market will be held on Sundays from 9 a.m until 2 p.m. through October 29th, at the city’s just-opened and renovated Anderson Plaza (between North Avenue and Le Count Place).

"Anderson Plaza was host to New Rochelle’s Downtown Farmer’s Market for many years, so it is truly gratifying to welcome 'back' this new market to our beautiful new plaza," City Manager Kathleen Gill said. "We look forward to the vibrancy this activation will bring to summer weekends."

The New Rochelle Farmers Market in downtown New Rochelle will be managed by Events To Remember, along with the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (NRBID).

"We are excited to bring the Farmer’s Market to the beautifully renovated Anderson Plaza and look forward to welcoming residents and vendors alike to Downtown’s newest community gathering spot," NRBID Chairman and President of nearby Monroe College Marc Jerome said.

In addition to a multi-million dollar makeover, the new location for the weekend tradition has other advantages.

"Everyone has been asking when the long-time New Rochelle Farmers Market will be back here in Downtown–and we are happy to say 'Now,'" NRBID Executive Director Karel Littman concurred. "This new location is easy to reach and has easy parking so we know people will enjoy coming to it."

The New Rochelle Farmers Market in downtown New Rochelle will open on the morning of Sunday, June 25 with a soft opening to be followed in July with a formal ribbon-cutting.
