Slain Cab Driver Is Identified, Shooter Remains At Large: Police

New Rochelle police said that the taxi driver had just parked his cab at the end of his shift when he was fatally shot.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle police have released the identity of the 62-year-old taxi driver who was shot to death on Thursday morning.

Andres Valenzuela was pronounced dead shortly after officers on patrol found the wounded New Rochelle man in a parking lot on Main Street in the city just before 3 a.m.

Valenzuela was finishing his shift as a taxi driver and was parking his cab when he was shot, police said in a statement released on Thursday. No arrests have been announced in connection with the ongoing homicide investigation.
