Christine Stulsky pleaded guilty to stealing fines and bail money from the town court.

A former Southold senior justice court clerk who stole $231,000 in fines and bail money from the town court will be sentenced to six months in jail on Wednesday, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota.

Christine Stulsky, 65, of New Suffolk, will also be sentenced to five years probation with drug and psychiatric conditions by State Supreme Court Justice John Collins.

Stulsky is required to pay the stolen money back in full and made a $50,000 payment in January, the DA said.

Stulsky’s thefts of court funds began in January of 2009 and she claimed she stole the money in order to meet everyday living expenses.

Stulsky was responsible for the collection and deposit of fines and bail funds, and reconciling court bank accounts before she resigned as a senior justice court clerk at the time of her arrest.
