A local musician who started a Kickstarter campaign last year to record his album, Just Say Hi!, announced recently that he has been nominated for his second Grammy award.

Southold native, Brady Rymer, who records children’s music along with his band, the Little Band That Could, started the campaign to raise $20,000 to help fund rehearsals, recording, production, artwork, manufacturing, and publicity for their latest album.

Earlier this month, Rymer wrote a message on the Kickstarter page announcing that the Kickstart funded album was nominated for a Grammy for best children’s album of the year.

The band has put out six CDs of family music, and performed across the country at schools, libraries, festivals and performing arts centers. Their previous album Here Comes Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could, was also nominated for a Grammy.

Rymer and his wife, Bridget run their own record label, Bumblin’ Bee Records based in Southold. They released all their CDs themselves.

“The process can be challenging, but the rewards make it all worthwhile: we make music we really care about, and we get to bring our music directly to our fans - you - the kids and families who enjoy it,” Rymer writes on the Kickstarter page.
