Dobbs Ferry Man Throws Teen Through Store Window: Police

The Westchester district attorney said the man faces three counts of felony assault and more.

DOBBS FERRY, NY — A Dobbs Ferry man was accused of assaulting two teenagers in September, throwing one of them through a window, police said.

Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah and Dobbs Ferry Police Chief Manuel R. Guevara said Wednesday that Vincent Pappas, 62, of Dobbs Ferry, was indicted by a grand jury.

  • First-degree assault, a felony.
  • Two counts of second-degree assault, felonies.
  • Third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.
  • Third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
  • Resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Pappas was arraigned in Westchester County Court Wednesday and was sent to jail.

Prosecutors, said, around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 29, Pappas threw one of the 15-year-olds through a storefront window on Main Street in Dobbs Ferry.

The teen was taken to Westchester Medical Center, where he was treated for a punctured lung, a cervical spine fracture and multiple lacerations.

Pappas also assaulted the second 15-year-old during the incident, and he resisted arrest as officers from the Dobbs Ferry Police Department placed him into custody, authorities said.
