RONKONKOMA, NY β€” The mixed-use Ronkonkoma hub development near the Long Island Rail Road station that is in the works for years now, has been revamped a bit β€” with a new name, Station Yards, and a focus on making it more spacious for both residents and shoppers, Newsday reported.

The project, which will feature a mix of housing, retail, and office space, has been reimagined by East Setauket developer Tritec Real Estate in response to the lifestyles and work habits of people post-coronavirus, the outlet reported.

The developer hopes to create β€œan authentic Long Island community" that emphasizes local brands rather than national chain stores, according to the outlet.
