3 Injured, 1 Seriously In Suffolk Crash Tuesday Morning: Police

The 61-year-old's 2005 rear-ended a pickup truck, and he was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, Suffolk police said.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — A 61-year-old Ridge man was seriously injured when the sedan he was driving rear-ended a pickup truck in Farmingville on Tuesday morning, Suffolk police said.

The man's 2005 Lexus rear-ended a 2021 Ford F350 that was stopped in traffic in the left lane of northbound Nicolls Road, just north of Horseblock Place, at around 10:45 a.m., according to police.

Farmingville Fire Department Rescue freed the man from his car, and then he was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The pickup's driver, a 71-year-old, Clifton, New Jersey man, and his passenger, a 38-year-old from the same hometown, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Detectives from the 6th Squad are investigating.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
