Middle Island Man Robs Centereach Bank: Police

He passed a note to a teller then ran away with some cash before he was caught later at 7-Eleven, Suffolk police said.

CENTEREACH, NY — A Middle Island man robbed M&T Bank in Centereach on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Ralph William Dominguez went inside the Middle Country Road branch and handed a bank teller a note demanding cash, according to police.

The teller handed over some cash and Dominguez ran away around 3:20 p.m., police said.

About 25 minutes later, a man matching Dominguez’s description was found by 6th Precinct patrol officers in the parking lot of 7-Eleven in Centereach, according to police.

He was taken into custody and charged with third-degree robbery, a felony, police said.

Dominguez, 65, was held overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
