East End Woman Steals Purse Left By Customer In Store: Police

FLANDERS, NY — A woman was arrested Sunday after she stole a purse on the East End, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, Carolina G. Galarza-Vega, 25, of Flanders, was arrested after an investigation by police found that while employed by a business located on County Road 39 in Southampton, she stole the purse of a female customer which was left in the store.

Galarza-Vega was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor, police said.

She was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and then released on an appearance ticket to to appear at Southampton Town Justice Court at a later date, police said.
