Toddler, 2, Dies After Being Found In North Haven Pool: Police

The little boy died at the hospital on Wednesday, police say.

NORTH HAVEN, NY — A 2-year-old boy who was found floating unconscious in a pool in North Haven Sunday has died, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at about 12:28 p.m.; a call came in about the toddler, who was found in a pool on Sunset Beach Road, police said.

Southampton Town police, Sag Harbor Village police and Sag Harbor EMS responded to the scene and performed CPR on the child, police said. He was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and subsequently transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he later died on Wednesday, police said.

Southampton Town police detectives, as well as code enforcement, are continuing the investigation, police said.
