MAHOPAC, NY — Two Queens residents accused in several shoplifting incidents in the Hudson Valley were caught after Carmel police detectives out warning local merchants noticed a car matching a description from Yorktown in the parking lot of the CVS in Mahopac.

The notice from Yorktown about a shoplifting larceny involving two suspects who fled town went out April 25, followed by a notice from the Westchester/Putnam Real Time Crime Center about additional larcenies in Northern Westchester which added that the suspects might still be in the area.

As detectives were out advising local merchants of the situation, they observed the suspects’ vehicle in the parking lot of the Mahopac CVS, police said. A subsequent investigation along with the assistance from Carmel patrol officers led to the arrest of two people.
