BOLO Leads To Arrest In Southeast Of Men With Fake Licenses, Names

They were also in possession of burglars' tools, Putnam Sheriff's Office officials said.

SOUTHEAST, NY — Putnam County 911 put out a BOLO at 5:20 p.m. April 26 telling law enforcement officers to be on the lookout for a vehicle wanted in connection with a robbery investigation by the NYPD and believed to be heading north on Interstate 684.

A Putnam Sheriff's deputy who was in the area located the vehicle on Route 22 in Southeast and began to follow it. With the assistance of additional members of the Sheriff's Office and New York State Police, the vehicle was stopped, and the occupants were taken into custody.

The driver, 48-year-old Omar Rodriguez Aponte of Homestead, Florida, was charged with Possession of Burglar's Tools, a class A misdemeanor, and was issued an appearance ticket for a future court date in the Town of Southeast Court, Sheriff's Office officials said.

The two passengers, Diego Bustos Escobar, 38, and Michal Alba Rincon, 39, both from Queens, NY, were also charged with Possession of Burglar's Tools.

Additionally, for having fake Mexican driver's licenses and for giving fake names when arrested, they each face a felony charge of second-degree Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and a misdemeanor charge of False Personation, Sheriff's Office officials said.

Escobar was determined to have a felony warrant from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, and he was held in the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending extradition to California, Sheriff's Office officials said.

Rincon was held for arraignment and was ROR'd after his court appearance to return for a future court date.
