Chief Finds Impaired Driver Outside Police HQ

MAHOPAC, NY — Carmel Police Chief Anthony Hoffmann came across a Port Chester man obstructing traffic with his vehicle on Croton Falls Road just outside of CPD headquarters on March 27.

Two officers including a drug detection expert then determined the driver was operating while under the influence of drugs.

Further investigation found he was driving a vehicle with a suspended registration.

The driver was taken into custody and charged with DWAI and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket pending a future court appearance in the Town of Carmel Justice Court.
