WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The 2022 Michelin Guide New York just added 18 new Bib Gourmands across the NYC area, and two of them are right here in Westchester.

The "Bibs" are restaurants that combine "good value and good quality cooking." Generally, two courses and a glass of wine or dessert would cost less than $49 before taxes and gratuity. Thanks, in part to recent inflation, the amount has been increased this year from the previous $40.

"The array of cuisines represented in this 2022 selection is truly impressive," International Director or Michelin Guides Gwendal Poullennec said. "Our famously anonymous inspectors are pleased to add these fine restaurants to the Bib Gourmand category for New York, as an appetizer before unveiling the full selection next week."

The full list of 125 Bib Gourmands will be unveiled in NYC after the Michelin Star Revelation on October 6, at 7:30 p.m.

The two Westchester restaurants that are new on the list this year are Chutney Masala in Irvington and TVB by: Pax Romana in White Plains. Both establishments are already well-known among Hudson Valley foodies.

Chutney Masala offers Indian cuisine creatively inspired by family recipes at 76 Main St. in Irvington.

Michelin inspectors wrote: "This longstanding restaurant in idyllic Irvington is a rather special place from chef/co-owner Navjot Arora. Local, organic produce star in such complex, boldly spiced dishes as bhindi masala (imbued with tangy amchoor) and Punjabi eggplant curry."

TVB by: Pax Romana serves traditional and innovative Italian-American cuisine at 171 E. Post Rd. in White Plains.

Michelin inspectors observed: "There is a classic rusticity to the setting, not unlike its cuisine, which focuses on Roman-inspired items. Chef Cristian Petitta prepares some of the best pinsa in town, its puffy and crispy crust topped with a well-balanced tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil, full stop."
