Westchester Knife Attack: Woman Found With Wounds To Face, Neck, Body

A suspect was arrested and charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and first degree assault.​​

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A woman is lucky to be alive after being injured in a knife attack.

The City of White Plains Police Department says that on May 4, around 6:39 p.m., officers were called to Harding Avenue on a report of a possible stabbing.

Police found a woman with stab wounds to her face, neck and body. She was taken to the Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

Detectives said they were able to interview several eyewitnesses to the attack.

Officers found a man nearby who matched the description given of the assailant. He was identified as Carlos Perea Obed-Tovar and taken into custody. The 23-year-old was booked and processed for attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and first degree assault.
