Domestic Dispute Leads To Felony Burglary Charges: NY State Troopers

Investigators say the trespasser was unwelcome at the home, which was not his own, and entered an outbuilding attempting to steal property.

CORTLANDT, NY — A call about a domestic dispute ended with a Peekskill man facing felony burglary charges.

On June 18, the New York State Police were called to a home in the town of Cortlandt for a domestic dispute. Investigators said that a 37-year-old man, who troopers were told was unwelcome at the residence (which was not his own), had entered an outbuilding attempting to steal property.

On June 20, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Kevin M. Powell for felony third degree burglary. He was arraigned before the town of Yorktown Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail pending his next appearance in the town of Cortlandt Court on July 8.
