Teenager Trespasses, Shoots Fireworks At Yorktown Yeshiva: Police

Because of his age, the teen was charged as a juvenile even though one of the underlying charges is a misdemeanor.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 16-year-old Mahopac boy was accused of trespassing at Yeshiva Kehilath property.

The Yorktown Police Department said, shortly after noon Sunday, an officer was sent to 341 Illington Road in Yorktown to take a report of a past criminal trespass.

An investigation identified a 16-year-old Mahopac boy as the person who trespassed.

Police said the teenager trespassed on the property of Yeshiva Kehilath and shot fireworks from the roadway onto the property.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, the teen responded with an adult to Yorktown Police Headquarters and was arrested.

The child was charged with two counts of juvenile delinquency, with the underlying charges being third-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation.

The teenager was issued a juvenile appearance ticket to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation April 24.
