Woman Found Unresponsive In Car Arrested For Possession of Heroin

She was issued an appearance ticket for the charge and released on her own recognizance, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

YORKTOWN, NY — A concerned driver tipped police off to a woman who was struggling in a big way on a Sunday afternoon.

Yorktown police said that they arrested a 23-year-old Yorktown resident and charged her with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, shortly after 3 p.m. on May 26, the Yorktown Police Department received a call from a driver who reported seeing an unresponsive person inside a vehicle on the side of the road.

Once on the scene, police officers found the reported vehicle parked, with an occupant who was unresponsive. She was evaluated by EMS and refused medical attention.

Investigators said that the woman was found to be in possession of glassine envelopes containing heroin. She was then arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

The woman was issued an appearance ticket for the charge and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on June 13.
