Yorktown Police: 19-Year-Old Dutchess Resident Found With Ghost Gun

Police said they also found a magazine that has the capacity to accept 17 rounds of ammunition.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 19-year-old Poughkeepsie resident faces weapons charges in Yorktown after resisting arrest, Yorktown police said.

Jamil M. Patterson of 137 Montgomery St. was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a Class E Felony; and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Yorktown police said at 2:04 a.m. Sunday an officer on routine patrol saw a vehicle traveling on Barger Street with a missing headlight. The investigation after a traffic stop found a 9mm un-serialized ghost gun and a magazine that has the capacity to accept 17 rounds of ammunition, police said.

Patterson was placed under arrest and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court before the Honorable Judge Raniolo. Bail was set at $20,000 cash, $40,000 bond, or $75,000 partially secured bond. Unable to post bail, he was sent to the Westchester County Jail. He was scheduled to return to the Yorktown Justice Court Tuesday.
