100th Class Graduating From Bensalem High School

The school district has celebrated the anniversary of its first high school graduating class all year.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The 100th class to graduate Bensalem High School reached a milestone for the school district on Friday.

In a year in which the district celebrated the high school's 100th anniversary, Friday's graduation ceremony capped quite a year of festivities, remembrances, and celebrations.

What started as a one-room school building 200 years ago known as the Cornwells School, Bensalem High School blossomed over the years to become one of the largest high schools in Bucks County.

The Bensalem High School of today was assembled in 1923, with the first class of five students graduating in 1925.

This week, the school district held other sendoffs.

8th-grade students from Cecelia Snyder Middle School are moving on to Bensalem High School, where they will one day become the 104th graduating class.

Thursday was also promotion day for Robert K. Shafer Middle School eighth-grade students, who are also moving on to high school.

On Tuesday morning, the Cornwellian alumni came back to visit one last time before they graduate from Bensalem High School.

The changes took place as the school district wrapped up its year.

Classes ended for the final school day of the year on Friday.
