HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Two longtime township eateries have closed up shop.

Farm and Fisherman Tavern on 575 Horsham Road closed on July 1 and the Friendly's restaurant on Route 611 has also closed.

"Inflation, rising food prices, shortage of good workers, folks eating out less…all these things contribute to a very tough climate for restaurants nationally," said Larry Burns, Horsham Township's director of community and economic development.

Both were chain restaurants with locations with the nearest Friendly's located in Bensalem Township and East Norriton. A Friendly's also closed a few years ago in Fort Washington.

Friendly's was known for its fast food like hamburgers and fries, but mainly for its ice cream, specifically some of its ice cream sundaes.

Farm and Fisherman operated for seven years before closing on July 1.

A sign posted on the front of the restaurant thanked patrons.

"We appreciate the support from the Horsham community over the past seven years," the sign said. "Please continue to support local farmers."

Farm and Fisherman followed up their notice with a Facebook post on Monday.

"The sun has set on our little restaurant in Horsham. Thanks to all of the staff, purveyors, farmers, and guests who supported us for the past seven years. We will miss all of you, and if you miss us, we will be in Cherry Hill waiting with open arms. Till we meet again."

The Farm and Fisherman Tavern + Market is ... the second iteration of Chef/Owner Josh & Colleen Lawler's established BYOB in Philadelphia. In partnership with Chef Todd Fuller, they aspire to pair preparations of regional produce and proteins with carefully selected wine, spirits, and local drafts in a comfortable, family-friendly, tavern environment, its website stated.

Farm and Fisherman has a location in Cherry Hill, N.J.
