Randa announced this week that he would be shutting the doors of the Route 611 business due to his retirement with Sunday at first being Tonelli's last day. That date has now been changed to Saturday night.

Tonelli’s opened in Horsham in 1993.

Its mission was to sell the best pizza, wings, cheesesteaks, and hoagies "in the universe," Randa told Patch last year during the 30-year anniversary celebration.

Randa was telling customers to come by Sunday for the last chance to enjoy Tonelli's fare.

But after an outpouring of appreciation from former employees, Randa is now holding a private event on Sunday.

"The outpouring of love was epic," Randa said. "I cried 9 times. Past employees were showing up in full force causing meltdowns. I am sorry we have changed the date we are closing to this Saturday night. We will stay open until the end of the Phillies game."

Randa said that more than 5,000 people have worked at Tonelli’s during his tenure.

"Quite a few babies have been born and marriages have formed out of Tonelli’s relationships," Randa said. "Three people are getting married this fall."
