Giving A Lansdale Woman With Cancer Her Dream Wedding

LANSDALE, PA — Planning a wedding can be stressful in the best of circumstnaces. Nevermind if you're trying to fight a deadly disease at the same time.

Lansdale's Taylor Goettner, 26, was recently engaged. But she's also been battling a rare form of aggressive ovarian cancer, known as Sertoli-Leydig Cell Tumor, ever since she was 16. And it's gotten worse.

Now, the community has rallied behind her in a big way to help plan her dream wedding.

More than $10,000 had been raised in just over nine days as of Thursday morning, according to a GoFundMe campaign.

" If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Taylor, you know what an absolute inspiration she is to every life she's touched," her friend Stephanie Erik writes in the GoFundMe. "She is a kind, caring, giving person who shines a light over everyone she meets with a beautiful smile on her face no matter what she is facing in life. She is brave when she thinks she isn't. She is strong when she feels weak. She. Is. AMAZING. She is our HERO."

Goettner has already undergone six surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, and even a stem cell transplant, but the cancer continues to malinger. She's currently battling an inoperable tumor that will not stop growing.
