Valley Forge Hosting Special Solar Eclipse Viewing Event

Park staff will be on hand with a telescope, eclipse glasses, games for children, and more.

VALLEY FORGE, PA — Valley Forge National Historical Park will host special programming during the upcoming solar eclipse.

The event will take place on Monday, April 8 at the Wayne's Woods picnic area from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Park staff will be on hand with eclipse glasses, games for children, Junior Ranger Explorer booklets and badges, crafts for kids, and more.

Volunteers with the Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers will also have a solar telescope on hand.

And Park ranger Steve Walter will give a talk about historical eclipses seen by the Continental Army in Jan. 1777 and June 1778.
