Girl Scout Troop 6823 Hosted 4th Annual Costume Swap

All proceeds from the swap were for the benefit of the Girl Scout SHARE program.

Release, Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital:

In October, Girl Scout Troop 6823 hosted its 4th Annual Costume Swap at the Broadlands Community Center.

This swap is held as an eco-friendly way to re-use costumes and reduce landfill waste. Swappers brought in gently used children’s costumes in exchange for a ticket, which they could then use to get a ‘like-new’ costume. After the designated swap time, shoppers could purchase costumes for $5 each.

All proceeds from the swap were for the benefit of the Girl Scout SHARE program – Share Her Annual Real Expense, the annual fundraiser of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital which helps all girls participate in scouting, regardless of their financial situation.
