Mobile Hope of Loudoun Granted Nonprofit Status

Mobile Hope, formerly an extension of Inova Loudoun Hospital that now focuses on helping homeless youth, has received its 501(c)(3) status.

Months after breaking away from Inova Loudoun Hospital to focus on Loudoun County’s homeless youth, Mobile Hope of Loudoun has received its tax-exempt nonprofit 501(c)(3) status as a registered nonprofit.

“One of our homeless boys went to the mailbox and saw a letter from the IRS,” said Donna Fortier, Founder and CEO of Mobile Hope. “He called me saying – ‘oh Ms Donna something from the IRS is in the mail and that can’t be good.’ I told him to go ahead and open the letter. He did and told me that it was the certificate! I thought how ironic it was that one of our boys is telling me the news. It has to be fate!”

Mobile Hope aims to raise awareness and support for children 21 and under who are at-risk, precariously housed or homeless in Loudoun County.
