2020 Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week Adjusts With To-Go Format

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria's Summer Restaurant Week will return in 2020 with a different format due to the pandemic. Around 60 restaurants will be offering takeout specials for foodies to enjoy at home from Aug. 21 to 30.

All restaurants will offer a $49 takeout dinner special for two, but individual options will vary. Some options include three-course meals, cocktails to go, meals with a bottle of wine package and more. Delivery is available at select restaurants with distance limitations.

Restaurant is a twice-a-year event held by Visit Alexandria in the summer and winter to showcase the city's variety of locally-owned eateries. It's especially timely to businesses weather the economic side of the pandemic. According to Visit Alexandria, many of the restaurants have provided free meals to frontline hospital workers, first responders and others impacted by the pandemic.

Diners can find returning favorites like 219 Restaurant, Bastille, Chadwicks, Del Ray Café, City Kitchen and Northside 10. Among the new restaurant participants are Taqueria Picoso, Glory Days Grill, The Light Horse, Michael’s Little Italy, Sweet Fire Donna’s and Mount Vernon Inn.
