After Life-Saving Surgery and 154 Days, Alexandria Shelter Pup Peking Adopted

Dog was at the animal shelter and foster care for 154 days. Watch the video from AWLA.

Peking was just a two-week old puppy when he came to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. One by one he watched as his siblings were adopted. Employees at the shelter noticed he had a hard time keeping up when it came to playing and running. It was soon discovered that he had a life-threatening problem with his heart.

The AWLA helped raise $5,000 needed for the heart surgery that saved his life and after 154 days, Peking recently left the shelter to go to his new home, after being adopted.

Peking left us just a few minutes ago with her new mom and dad, who were ecstatic to take her home. We wanted to send a big “thank you” from all of us here at the AWLA to every single one of you who helped Peking through her journey here; WOOFS! Dog Training Center LLC for fostering her and her siblings in their first few months, CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets for performing her life-saving surgery, her foster mom for taking such good care of her after the surgery, her new adoptive parents, and of course, everyone who donated to make it all happen. She couldn’t have done it without you.
